The crucible of the medium-frequency induction furnace has the following characteristics
(1) Higher melting point. The steel-making crucible requires a melting point of 1700℃.
(2) Stable physical properties. The crucible products are required to be resistant to the erosion of slag and molten steel.
(3) It has excellent thermal shock resistance and high temperature strength.
(4) It has certain insulation properties.
(5) Lower thermal conductivity.
(6) Low cost, **.
2. Common classifications of refractory materials used for manufacturing crucibles: There are three types: magnesia, magnesia-alumina spinel, and quartz sand. Among them, magnesia can be further divided into ordinary sintered magnesia, hot-selection magnesia (high-quality sintered magnesia), seawater magnesia, and electrically fused magnesia. The commonly used additive is boric acid (H3BO3), which serves to lower the sintering temperature of the sand, promote the synthesis of magnesia-alumina spinel, and change the volume change rate of the crucible.
3. According to the properties of the refractory materials used in the crucibles, there are three types of crucible refractory materials: acidic, alkaline and neutral.
